    Judging Criteria: Creativity, impact and consistency of the campaign. How well does the campaign achieve the objective?

    Judging Criteria:  Creativity, impact, effectiveness of the site and ease of use. Builder only, not master plan community.

    Materials required:

    • Completed entry form (judges will go online to view).
    • Website address to view the virtual tour.
  10. Best Radio Ad

    Judging Criteria: Creativity and impact of the ad. Builder only, not master plan community.

    Materials required:

    • One (1) digital copy of the broadcasted radio commercial.
    • Statement of 250 characters or less describing the campaign’s target market.
  11. Best Social Media Campaign

    Judging Criteria: Creativity, impact and consistency of the campaign. How well does the campaign achieve the objective. Builder only, not master plan community.

    Digital Materials required:

    • Statement of 500 characters or less describing campaign’s concept and objective.
    • 2-3 examples from social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.) promoting the campaign.
  12. Best Design Center by a Builder

    Judging Criteria: Creativity, office interior impact, graphics and display presentation. Additional criteria includes the floor plan (strongly suggested, if available) layout and the effective use of space and functionality of the design center.

    Digital Materials required:

    • Two (2) interior photos of entrant’s choice (entrant may choose which photos best represent the design center).
    • One (1) floor plan of design center. (strongly suggested, if available)
  13. Best Sales Office Under 500 Square Feet Within a Model Home

    (Approximately the size of a 2-car garage or smaller)

  14. Best Sales Office 500 Square Feet or Larger Within a Model Home

    (sales office larger than a 2-car garage)

    Judging Criteria: Creativity, visual impact of the office interior, graphics and display presentation, effective use of space and functionality of the sales office.

    Digital Materials required:

    • One (1) floor plan of sales office.
    • Two (2) interior photos of office (entrant may choose which photos best represent the sales office).
  15. Best Sales Pavilion

    (Stand-alone sales office representing one or more neighborhoods/communities)

    Judging Criteria: Creativity, visual impact of the pavilion interior and exterior, graphics and display presentation, effective use of space and functionality of the sales pavilion. Builder only, not master plan community.

    Digital Materials required:

    • One (1) floor plan of sales pavilion.
    • Two (2) interior photos of sales pavilion (entrant may choose which photos best represent the sales pavilion).
    • One (1) exterior photo of sales pavilion.

    • One (1) floor plan showing furniture layout (of all floors).

    • Brief statement of no more than 250 characters describing the target market. Include whether market is first time, move up etc.

      • Brief statement of no more than 250 characters describing the target market. Include whether market is first time, move up etc.
  26. Best Attached Product Design

    Judging Criteria: Award based on design and value for price paid. Function and efficiency of floor plan, livability of floor plan, pizzazz and appeal of home design to target market.

    • One (1) floor plan of the home.
    • One (1) exterior photo.
    • One (1) price sheet indicating the base price of the model being entered, with plan name/number circled or highlighted (used to verify the correct category for the entry).

    • Up to three (3) color photos of the entrant’s choice of the backyard.
    • One (1) landscape plan (including furniture layout if available).
    • One (1) price sheet indicating base price of the model home being entered, with plan name/number circled or highlighted (used to verify the correct category for entry).
    • Brief statement of no more than 250 characters describing the target market. Include whether market is first time, move up etc.
  32. Custom Home of the Year Under $3,000,000

  33. Custom Home of the Year Over $3,000,000

    Judging Criteria: Uniqueness of design concept as a whole, interior and exterior design detail, architectural creativity and livability/functionality.

    Materials required:

    • Five (5) color photos of entrant’s choice, one (1) of which must be of exterior front of the home.
    • One (1) copy of floor plan.
    • Indicate the total livable square footage of the home. Indicate the sales price of the home excluding the lot price and the price per square foot of livable area of the home.
  34. Rising Star of the Year

    Discontinued for 2018.

  35. Rookie Salesperson of the Year

    Judging Criteria: How the candidate has adapted to new home sales with regard to understanding the business, dealing with buyers, dealing with fellow salespeople and management. Professional attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to new home sales will be considered. Candidate cannot have previous real estate sales experience.

  36. Salesperson of the Year with a Company Closing less Than 250 Homes a Year

  37. Salesperson of the Year with a Company Closing 250 or More Homes a Year

    Judging Criteria: Professional attitude, relationships with fellow salespersons, management and buying public; responsiveness to new marketing ideas; nature and extent of assistance in marketing his or her community (other than selling); and enthusiasm and commitment to the home building industry.

    Include candidate photo.

  38. Internet Salesperson of the Year

    Judging Criteria: Professional attitude, creativity and responsiveness to customer inquiries, knowledge of all company communities and inventory homes, ability and willingness to drive traffic to communities, ability to convert prospects to buyers: and enthusiasm and commitment to the home building industry. Builder size taken into consideration.

  39. Sales Manager of the Year

    Judging Criteria: How the candidate demonstrates success and professionalism in motivation, education and discipline of sales force; adjusting to changes in economic trends and product demands by the public; and extent of successful suggestions to management in implementing sales and marketing strategies. Builder size taken into consideration.

  40. Marketing Manager/Director of the Year

    Judging Criteria: Candidate must be responsible for the marketing for their company and have the authority to make and implement the company’s marketing, and advertising policies. Shows creativity in marketing, and proven implementations of the company’s marketing plan(s). VP of Sales and Marketing are eligible to enter. Builder size taken into consideration.

Sales Achievement

The Sales & Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association recognizes sales associates who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in net sales. Net sales dollar volume represents net sales made by an individual sales associate, not the dollar volume of junior sales associates working with them. The outstanding achievement in net sales applies to the following categories:

  • $2-5 Million
  • $5-8 Million
  • $8-10 Million
  • $10-$12 Million
  • Over $12 Million

Top Ten Achievement Awards
Each year, the top ten sales associate producers will be recognized. These top guns will reflect the high quality of the sales associates. These awards will be presented at the MAME awards program.
